At the beginning of the 1960’s, in Italy tissue paper for domestic use was not yet an asserted product. Most paper factories were still dedicated to making packaging or the so-called yellow paper used for wrapping food. In the second half of the 1970’s, only the American multinational Scott produced quality tissue paper obtained from pure virgin fibre. Industrie Cartarie Tronchetti, which had been present in the paper making field since 1952, decided to enter the sector in 1978 by making a basic choice which it was to maintain until the present day: producing high quality paper only using top quality virgin fibre.
This was how Cartarie Tronchetti became the reference supplier for the transformation companies which pursued high quality, from that moment on, no longer the exclusive prerogative of the multinationals. Subsequently, even Industrie Cartarie Tronchetti chose the road of transforming its own paper into a finished product with its own trade mark: In 1982 Foxy was created.
ICT today
Today Industrie Cartarie Tronchetti (ICT) is a young and dynamic company. It has become one of the reference manufacturers for the Italian market as well as for the European one. The company bases its policy on three fundamental features: Product quality, efficiency and service.
Production and processing is performed in 6 plants in Europe, 4 of them are in Italy, 1 in Poland (ICT Poland) and 1 in Spain (ICT Spain). The Italian plants are located in Tuscany and more precisely 3 in the province of Lucca and the fourth in Monzone, in the province of Massa.
The global production capacity of the ICT group currently amounts to about 400,000 tons per annum, divided over 8 paper mills. The most recent of these was started up in the Kostrzyn (Poland) plant in February 2008 and provides an additional capacity of approximately 70,000 tons per annum.
Pozzani Disposables, a company specialised in manufacturing pure cotton babies’ nappies and sanitary towels for women, also belongs to the ICT Group.
